Aston Martin Vantage Oil Change Guide

Overview

The 2024-onward Vantage uses a reworked AMG M177 V8 producing 665 PS. The oil service follows the same fundamental process as the previous-generation car, but the exact specification must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation for this updated engine.

Tools and consumables

Tools

• Lift or secure axle stands: The car must be safely and level supported.
• Socket, Torx, and trim-fastener tools: For underbody access and drain plug.
• Drain pan and clean funnels: Sized for the full oil capacity of the reworked M177.
• Torque wrench: For drain plug and filter housing to correct specification.

Consumables

• Approved engine oil: Exact specification for the 665 PS reworked M177. Do not assume the same grade as the previous-generation car without verifying.
• Oil filter: Confirm by VIN — the reworked engine may require a different filter.
• Drain plug seal: Replace at every service.

Preparation

• Confirm the exact oil specification and quantity for the 2024-onward Vantage.
• Gather all tools, consumables, and a clean drain pan.
• Raise and secure the car safely and level.

Access

• Remove underbody panels to expose the sump and filter area.
• Note any changes in layout compared with the previous-generation car.

Drain and remove

• Position the drain pan and remove the drain plug.
• Allow the oil to drain fully. Inspect the old oil for condition.
• Remove and inspect the old oil filter.

Install and refill

• Fit a new drain plug seal and torque to specification.
• Install the new oil filter with correct seal seating.
• Refill with the exact approved oil to the correct level.

Final checks

• Run the engine and check for leaks.
• Recheck the oil level after settling and top up if needed.
• Refit panels and reset any service indicator.
